History of MTY organization

Our Organization is Medical Aid Association (NGO) has been giving the medical aid and to the poor and pauper patients in Pathein Divisional General Hospital as humanitarian act since 1st January, 2005.

During the term from January, 2005 to October 2006 totally 698 patients have been given the medical aid, costing over seventeen point six million Kyats (Ks 17,639,883).

Moreover, we have been offering the medical aid to all the patients in Pathein Herbal Hospital, situated near Lay-Kyun-Yan-Aung-Phaung-Daw-Oo ZAedi in common name Yay-Kyi-Oo Temple since December, 2005.

To perform this noble duty for a long run, our association it trying to seek the permanent member and co-operate.

The money donated by the member in sympathy is used to supply the patients hospitalized in PDGH and PHH, and then
the monthly pamphlet of the list of donors and monthly budget is always issued.

So it is true that the amount of money 50 kyats per day that we save, can practically save lives, and our members arehappy for this meritorious deed.

Functions of Myit Tar Yake are:

1. Providing free medical treatment to monks, nuns and poor people.

2. Providing Humanitarian assistance to refugees.

3. Providing Monthly medical checkup in the monastery by volunteer doctors

4. Supplying free vaccination against Hepatitis and other disease in the disease-prone seasons, especially, in the rainy season

The group went down to the disaster-zones on 8 May 2008 in order to donate rice, water, medicine and to give humanitarian aids.

Current activities for relief aids to Cyclone ( Nargis ) hit areas

  • * Seventh trip went down on 13 June 2008 to 17 June 2008 about 5 days to Ingatay village and surrounding hamlets in Ngaputaw Township. In this trip, "MCP(Myanmar Compassion Project)" and "Online Donation Youth" have joined and supported to MTY for medical care and other aid.
  • * Sixth trip went down on 07 June 2008 to 10 07 June 2008 about 4 days to Cyclone (Nargis) hit areas. This trip was only mobile clinic and participated medical team of Myanmar Compassion Project (MCP).
  • * Fifth trip went down on 29 May 2008 to 31 May 2008 about 3 days to Ohnchaung, Thaungalay and surrounding villages. In this trip, Myanmar Compassion Project have joined and supported to MTY for medical care and other aid.
  • * Fourth trip went down on 28 May 2008 to 01 June 2008 about 5 Days for relief aids to the disaster-zone such as Betut and surrounding villages in Labutta Tps. It's Second time to that area.
  • * Third trip went down on 20 May 2008 to 23 May 2008 about 4 Days for relief aids to Cyclone ( Nargis ) hit areas.
  • * Second trip went down on 15 May 2008 with 20 members and 30 volunteers to the disaster-zones.
  • * The group went down to the disaster-zones on 8 May 2008 in order to donate rice, water, medicine and to give humanitarian aids to cyclone victims. First group return back on 11 May 2008 and second group back on 12 May 08.
